Welcome to Hartford Church of England High School!

I am so proud to be the Headteacher of Hartford Church of England High School! We have amazing students, superb and committed staff, caring parents and an excellent Governing Board; all of whom contribute to our vibrant school community.

Our school is unique in the local area as the only Church of England High School for many miles around. You would have to go to Manchester, Chester or Warrington to find the next nearest church foundation school. We are proud to be a Church of England High School, serving the local community, determined to bring out the best in everyone we are lucky enough to educate and work alongside.

Hartford Church of England High School is on a journey towards outstanding. Having been graded ‘Good’ in all Ofsted categories in 2023, we have built substantially on this solid foundation over the past two years, strengthening many areas of the school, fostering a sense of community and togetherness that is driving us forward. We have paid particular attention to the curriculum (ensuring that it is broad and balanced) and the quality of teaching and learning with a particular focus on reading, independence and challenge. Equally, we have substantially developed our extracurricular offer with over 200 students participating in activities beyond the classroom at lunchtime and many more enjoying the wealth of opportunities afforded to them after school too. A driving force behind all that we have done has been developing the culture of the school, with the creation of values that underpin our interactions with one another and a family system that all students and staff are a part of, focussing on personal development, leadership, charitable acts and friendly competition.
