Hartford Church of England High School

Key Contacts

Hartford Church of England High School has two dedicated members of staff to lead the admissions process, under the leadership of Director of Operations, Mrs. Williams.

Admissions Officer

Mrs. K. Brown is the Admissions Officer for the school. Mrs. Brown is the main contact for all parents interested in applying for a place for their child at Hartford Church of England High School.

Mrs. Brown has a dedicated email address for admissions - admissions@hartfordhigh.co.uk

If you are unsure about any aspect of the admissions process, need to seek clarification as to how to complete application forms, or for any other query, please contact Mrs. Brown either at the email address above or by telephoning the school on 01606 786 000 and asking for her.

Where a child has not secured a place at Hartford Church of England High School and has been allocated a different school instead, an appeal can be made. Parents should contact Mrs. Brown who will offer advice and guidance, explaining what to do next.

Head of Transition

Ms. E. Daniels leads the transition process for the school. This is not just for students joining Hartford Church of England High School at the start of year 7, but for students joining the school in any year group, at any time.

Outside of the published tours run by the Headteacher, Ms. Daniels runs individual tours of the school dedicated to any children and their parents who are considering joining Hartford Church of England High School; these take place at the end of the school day. Ms. Daniels organises the first day for all students who join after the start of Year 7 and liaises with parents as to appropriate classes, subjects to study if in years 10 or 11 and, most importantly, makes sure that students are known and valued before they even begin their Hartford Church of England High School journey.

When parents are informed that their child has a place in Year 7, it is Mrs. Brown and Ms. Daniels who will get in touch, provide lots of information and liaise with parents, students and primary schools to ensure that the transition process from key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 is as smooth as possible.

SENDCO

Where students have support from a SEND perspective at primary school, this support continues at high school. Mr. T. Lee is Hartford Church of England High School’s SENDCO. He works alongside Mrs. L. Lee, Assistant SENDCO to ensure that children are supported in all manner of ways as they begin their high school journey. Both colleagues are heavily involved in the transition process. The SEND team can be contacted via email: send@hartfordhigh.co.uk.
