Key Dates

The key dates listed below are relevant for parents who are applying for places for their child to start Hartford Church of England High School at the beginning of Year 7. Where parents wish to apply for a place after the start of Year 7, an application should be made as soon as possible. Key Dates for Admissions for Year 7 for September 2025

1st September 2024 – Application Process Opens

16th September 2024 until 11th October 2024 - 9:30am to 11am - Parent and Child Tours of the school with the Headteacher (weekdays)

26th September 2024 – Open Evening – 5pm to 8pm

31st October 2024 – Last Date for Applications to be made to the local authority.

31st October 2024 – Last Date for Applications for Foundations Places to be handed to the school.

1st March 2025 – Parents notified of their child’s allocated secondary school place. Please note as this is a Saturday, the local authority may not inform parents until 3rd March 2025.

3rd March 2025 – All parents of students allocated places at Hartford Church of England High School will receive an email and invitation to our ‘New Intake Welcome Evening’.

3rd April 2025 – New Intake Welcome Evening

5th June 2025 – Year 6 Uniform Trying on Evening – Drop-in session where parents can purchase uniform but also identify what size to buy!

30th June 2025 – Transition Week Begins – Bespoke transition sessions held by invitation on Monday (30th June) and Tuesday (1st July). All Year 6 students attend for the day on Wednesday (2nd July) and Thursday (3rd July). A disco is held on Friday (4th July) evening for all Year 6 students.

3rd July 2025 – Year 6 Parents’ Evening

Throughout the summer term, our Head of Transition, Ms. Daniels, visits primary schools and therefore the children in Year 6 to find out more about them.
