GCSE Results
We are proud to share the latest performance data for our school, which clearly demonstrates both strong academic outcomes and a positive upward trend. When compared to the Local Education Authority (LEA) and National averages, our school continues to outperform in key areas.
Academic Achievement: Attainment 8
- In 2024, our Average Attainment 8 score was 47.1, already above both the LEA average (45.2) and the National average (45.9).
- In 2025, our provisional score has risen to 50.2, showing significant improvement and further widening the gap between our school and other schools locally and nationally.
This means our students are achieving higher grades across a broad range of subjects, reflecting strong teaching and a supportive learning environment.
Core Subjects: English and Maths
- In 2025, 77% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, compared to 70% in 2024. This is well above the LEA (64%) and National (65%) averages.
- For the more demanding Grade 5 benchmark, 56% of students achieved this in 2025, up from 53% in 2024, again outperforming the LEA (44%) and National (46%).
These results show that our students are not only passing core subjects but doing so at a higher standard than their peers elsewhere. This threshold measure is key to pupils progressing to their next steps in Education, where Level 3 courses often require a Grade 5 or better in English and Maths as an entry requirement.
Broad Curriculum Success: EBACC
- Our Average EBACC Points Score rose from 4.4 in 2024 to 4.7 in 2025, compared to LEA (4.0) and National (4.1) averages.
- The percentage of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in the EBACC also increased to 31%, significantly higher than the LEA and National averages (both 18%).
This reflects our commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum, preparing students for a wide range of future opportunities.
Student Progress: Progress 8
- Our Progress 8 score improved from -0.14 in 2024 to a provisional +0.04 in 2025. Due to COVID the 2025 exam cohort did not take Key Stage 2 exams. Progress scores for this cohort are estimated from the progress shown from standardised Cognitive Ability Tests, (CATS from GL Assessments), and final exam grades interpreted by SISRA analytical software.
- This years progress score is better than both the 2024 LEA average (-0.06) and the 2024 National average (-0.03), showing that our school adds real value to each student’s education.
The data shows that our school is not only performing above local and national averages but is also made positive improvements from threshold scores that were already above Local and National Averages. Our students achieve strong academic outcomes, make excellent progress, and benefit from a rich curriculum that sets them up for future success.
